Old School Love
Sydney and Frank are the kind of couple that makes me want to sing old Alan Jackson country songs. They are an old school, cozy kind of love that makes you remember why people get married in the first place. And being a part of their wedding reminded me why I love what I do. Getting married isn’t about the dress, or the venue, or the amount of money you put into the thing. It’s about the people. The moms, the dads, the friends from college, all coming together to celebrate the work you and your S.O. have put in to build a life, and all the work that is to come. It’s about community. It’s about reminding each other that the world may suck, but we don’t have to. We get to choose love every single day.
Sydney and Frank got married in her family’s backyard. Surrounded by the iconic dry hills that Eastern Washington has to offer and the cotton candy skies that make you forget that you’re not some character in a “wild west” type movie.
Normally, I sit somewhere quiet to eat dinner during wedding service. But Sydney and Frank sat me close with all their old friends. That is what I think of when I think of these two: Immersive, welcoming, and down to party. I left dancing that night, and I know they kept on until the early morning!
Okay, I’ve got tears in my eyes. I think it’s time for you all to just sit back and relax. Enjoy Sydney and Frank’s intimate backyard wedding in Kennewick, Washington.
